Tide picks up DE: Alabama received a verbal commitment from Alex Watkins, a defensive end from Brownsville, Tenn. Watkins participated in a football camp recently at Alabama, toured the campus and made his decision. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Watkins had 90 tackles as a junior with 15 1/2 quarterback sacks and has been clocked at 4.65 in the 40-yard dash.
