Tiffin closes in on Christensen's job PDF Print E-mail

"Nobody was disappointed in Jamie, he was doing a good job, but Leigh Tiffin had just done a really good job," Saban said. "He'd been consistent all through camp. I think the competition was good for both guys and both guys are better because of it. I don't think that decision was a final decision. When Jamie comes back, if he kicks well, he may get another opportunity. And if he gets another opportunity he needs to take advantage of it."

Tiffin is perhaps best known as both the son of former Crimson Tide All-American kicker Van Tiffin and also for his nightmarish day in Alabama's loss to Arkansas last season. Then a true freshman, Tiffin missed three potential game-winning kicks -- including two in overtime -- in a 24-23 loss to the Razorbacks.
