So what's the verdict on this spring? To hear Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban tell it, perhaps the biggest change in his squad this spring has been an intangible kind. Lessons have finally sunk in, leading to leadership and accountability where there wasn't before.
"For the first time, I've seen leadership emerge this spring from some of our players to affect other players," Saban said. "That's not something we've had a lot of here. Because if you want to protect yourself and you don't want to do it right, enough is enough for you. Then how can you challenge someone else to do it when you're not doing it yourself?"
