TUSCALOOSA -- There are similarities between Alabama and Vanderbilt as the two teams prepare for today's Southeastern Conference opener at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama's close win over Hawaii and Vanderbilt's road loss to Michigan raised questions that provide confidence to the opposing side.
